Dallas Smith

Dallas Smith

It’s fair to say Dallas Smith has handily conquered the Canadian country music scene. The Default lead singer and three-time CCMA Entertainer of the Year has released a string of hits over the years, landing 18 gold singles along the way. Now Smith is taking on the broader country genre as a signee to Nashville juggernaut Big Loud Records, with Dallas Smith serving as his first full-length project for the label. Part of Smith’s country success owes to his longtime collaborative friendship with producer Joey Moi, who helms this LP, a partnership that eventually led Smith to Big Loud, which Moi co-founded. Some of Music Row’s finest songwriters lend their talents to the record, too, including Hillary Lindsey, Jaren Johnston, and Travis Meadows. Highlights on Dallas Smith include “Fixer Upper,” a vulnerable love song co-written by Morgan Wallen, and the MacKenzie Porter duet “One Too,” a hit single that notched the pair a CCMA trophy for Musical Collaboration of the Year.
