EDITORS’ NOTES

The phrase "country-rap" only begins to cover what Colt Ford does on this gloriously reckless EP, a collection that incorporates crunk, metal, blues, and everything fun that lies in between. "Buck 'Em" invokes the synthesizer stomp of Bubba Sparxx's collaborations with Timbaland, with Ford spitting flows over a funk guitar and earth-shaking bass. "Big White Redneck," with all of its twang and swing, could even be an Alan Jackson tune—at least until Colt arrives to rhyme "hunting buddy" with "getting muddy."
