Bree Runway dedicates her debut Apple Music Home Session to the memories of recording music that would later become debut mixtape 2000AND4EVA. “My bedroom, being the hub for all things Bree Runway, is exactly where I started,” she tells Apple Music. “I had that lightbulb moment, whilst recording at home. And I found strength and comfort in knowing: ‘This is where I started—and look how far I’ve come.’” An emotive reminder of her spectacular rise, the Session includes a stirring cover of 2022 single “Somebody Like You” and a rendition of Toni Wine and Carol Bayer Sager’s “A Groovy Kinda Love,” also an ’80s chart-topper in the UK for Phil Collins. “I hold these songs dear to my heart,” she says. “Whilst growing up, my mum and I would drive around listening to the radio, turning it up and singing “A Groovy Kinda Love,” so loud and off-key, but it was fun and special every single time.”
