A Golden State

A Golden State

On his third album, Bristol singer-songwriter Luke Sital-Singh confronts the uncertainty and excitement of new beginnings with candid snapshots depicting his recent move to California with his wife. Sital-Singh’s whispered vocals set a peaceful tone over radiant soft rock on “Los Angeles” and “The Last Day,” both of which express the anticipation of starting anew. The gentle country rock of “Silhouette” shows the other side of the story, when tensions boil and you have no one else to confide in as you adjust to a foreign environment. That feeling of settling down flows throughout the immaculately produced album—even if it also suggests a desire to escape.
