Editors' Notes Though The Washboard Union’s name suggests old-time leanings, the Vancouver trio—comprising singer-instrumentalists David Roberts, Aaron Grain, and Chris Duncombe—have updated the template for contemporary ears and arena-scale crowds. On their third full-length album Everbound, they bounce between glossy, anthemic folk rock (“Country Thunder”), breezy, good-time grooves (“Dock Rock”), and modern country rock of hurtling, muscled-up (“Shut Er Down” and “One More One More”) and warm, homey (“Home Sweet Her”) varieties. But at the heart of their sound are the tight, trim three-part harmonies that they put to upbeat use in the full-length's straight-ahead fantasies of fellowship and fulfillment.
