About Space Probe Taurus

Although their name was inspired by an obscure cult movie from 1965, the chief musical inspiration behind Sweden's Space Probe Taurus is that same decade's psychedelic acid-fuzz space rock and metal, as resurrected and synthesized in the 1990s by New Jersey's infamous Monster Magnet. Space Probe Taurus were founded circa 1993 by drummer Sundler and bassist/vocalist Enberg, but didn't really achieve escape velocity until the arrival of vocalist/guitarist Sjöberg almost five years later and, completing their most stable lineup in 2000, guitarist/vocalist Eronen. At that point, Space Probe Taurus stepped up their Scandinavian touring efforts and the recordings of frequent self-released demos and EPs, as well as several compilation and tribute album tracks, but incredibly have yet to record a full-length LP. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
