Never Enough

About Never Enough

Never Enough represents a fresh collaboration between three noted artists from the underground heavy metal community: singer and guitarist Norman Matthew, guitarist Keith Barney, and drummer Trevor Friedrich. Matthew first made a name for himself as the leader of the El Paso, TX, band Lylah, who earned a passionate fan following for their melodic fusion of metal and goth elements. While on the road with Lylah as part of the Vans Warped Tour, Matthew struck up a friendship with Barney and Friedrich, who were playing on the tour with their band Eighteen Visions, well known among alternative metal fans for their aggressive hardcore attack. In the spring of 2007, Eighteen Visions announced their breakup, less than a year after the hard-working band released its major-label debut, and Barney and Friedrich were eager to launch a new project. They joined forces with Matthew to form Never Enough, a band that merged the melodic elements of Lylah and Eighteen Visions' aggressive presentation, with an electronic sheen visible in the production. Never Enough wasted no time striking a deal with the independent hard rock label Corporate Punishment, and their self-titled debut album was released on November 20, 2007; the group played its first live show just a few weeks later as a promotional event at a record store in Orange County, CA. ~ Mark Deming
