Comprised of stay-at-home mothers who had heard enough of standard children's music, Candy Band -- vocalist Daniela Burckhardt, guitarist Paula Messner (ex-Motor Dolls and the Vertical Pillows), bassist Anita Kelly, and drummer Tammy Ristau -- play pop-punk-style versions of classic children's songs. Playing at schools and libraries in addition to the conventional bar, Candy Band have appeared on The Today Show and on CBS' Morning Show. Since forming in 2003, they have recorded four albums -- Candy Band, More Candy, LolliPunk, and Calling All Kids (the album cover a reworking of the Clash's London Calling). ~ Kenyon Hopkin
