Zimavsegda Essentials

Originally a three-piece pop-rock and indie outfit that shed its members in 2011, save for lead singer Evgeny Kubynin, Zimavsegda roughly translates to "Forever Winter". The Saint Petersburg band flow with warm, organic sounds, pairing profound, melancholic lyrics with Kubynin's frail yet assertive falsetto—a sound that's come to define the group's distinctive style. Once dubbed Russia's answer to Coldplay and known to incorporate hints of genres as diverse as R&B, soul and hip-hop into their music, Zimavsegda have established themselves as a welcome staple in their country's rock scene.
