About Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas

Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas is a noted organist and harpsichordist and directs his own ensemble, Les Surprises. He has conducted research into little-known works and performance practices of the 17th and 18th centuries. Bestion de Camboulas and viola da gamba player Juliette Guignard formed the ensemble Les Surprises. Bestion de Camboulas remains active as a composer, issuing the pastiche opera Passione. He was heard as organist on the 2019 album Soleils couchants, but most of his recording activity has been with Les Surprises. With that group, he released several albums, including Rameau chez le Pompadour, in 2022. Later that year, Les Surprises issued the album An Unexpected Mozart.
