About Jaziel Brothers

Consisting of blood brothers (they’re actually cousins) Luthando and Ntobeko Ngcizela, Afropop duo Jaziel Brothers make music with a huge traditional gospel and R&B influence, thanks to their ’90s upbringing in Klerksdorp, where both genres were radio staples. After studying sound engineering in college, the duo wrote, produced and appeared on popular South African gospel artist Lesego’s 2006 album Mymusic and collaborated with hip-hop artist Jub Jub on his 2007 gospel crossover hit “Ndikhokhele”. Around the same time, the Brothers launched their own label, Jaziel Music Productions, to release their 2008 debut, The Beginning. That record featured their breakout single, “Ngeke Ndiphinde”, a heart-melting ballad about apologising to a lover. The duo’s knack for cross-genre collaborations has seen them connect with artists from the worlds of gospel (Dumi Mkokstad), house (DJ Bongz) and kwaito (Big Nuz).
