About Jayce Turley

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest memories was spending summers at a Bluegrass camp called Allegheny Echoes in Pocahontas, WV. There I learned fiddle, dobro, and guitar. I got to jam and spend time with greats such as Don Rigsby, The Bing Brothers, and Kenny Smith. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Billy Strings, Renewal Drive-By Truckers, Decoration Day The SteelDrivers, The SteelDrivers It's an ever-changing list, but these albums helped define my music and my music taste. From Isbell, Cooley, and Hood's southern-rocking ballads, Stapleton's roots in unorthodox but extraordinary bluegrass, to Apostol's amazing leads and penmanship. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Lone Hearted Fool” This was my first real attempt at detailed writing. It goes past being a simple song, to being one with clever rhyming, detailed progression, and a real story. It stands today, three years after I put it to paper, as my favorite of my catalogue. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my favorite memories so far was a three-night run with Morgan Wade. Back in November of '22, Morgan and I shared three dates in Charleston, WV, Roanoke, VA, and Knoxville, TN. Morgan and her crew took me in and treated me like family. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? As most artists dream, I would love to hit the Ryman stage. More short-term goals of mine are to play The Caverns, Manchester Music Hall, and to open up a 49 Winchester show.
