The Beta Band seemed inspired by just about everything other than indie rock. You could hear the influence of classic rock and psychedelic-era bands like Pink Floyd and The Beach Boys, and it was clear they'd also taken cues from experimental art-rockers like Brian Eno and Talk Talk. Throw in dub and dancehall, krautrock and hip-hop, and you've got their unique, fearlessly genre-bending approach.
