Often referred to as the 'Father of Brazilian Rock', singer-songwriter Raul Seixas was at the forefront of South American music for decades. Influenced by American acts such as Bill Haley and Elvis Presley—as well as the sounds of fellow countrymen João Gilberto and Luiz Gonzaga—he ruled the '60s, '70s, and '80s with his unique mixture of classic and psychedelic rock, gentle pop, and Brazilian baião rhythms.
