Bjӧrn Afzelius Essentials

In 1970, Bjӧrn Afzelius joined with Mikael Wiehe to form the Swedish progg band Hoola Bandoola—together they would have a powerful influence on the music scene in Scandinavia. Afzelius cultivated a solo career starting in 1974, singing about love and the joys and sorrows of life in Swedish. By 1999, Afzelius had sold more than two and a half million albums in Sweden, and composed close to 150 songs. Later in his career, his traditional musical style transformed to include country rock and Latin beats, as well as the ‘80s pop rock sounds featured on one of his biggest hits “Ikaros”.
