JAE5 FM unleashes the London-born producer and DJ’s free-flowing, diasporic vibe in its purest form—with exclusive interviews, playlists, special guest mixes and music premieres. “African music is the future, it’s always a part of what I do,” JAE5 tells Apple Music. “I think my music will always have that [African] feel. Even if UK artists become less willing to embrace that influence, I can always shift over to working with African artists. However, there always seems to be one or two that are down to vibe with the Afro elements, just like Skepta or Dave right now.” Architect of genre-bending hits from an inspiring range of acts—including J Hus, Burna Boy, Jess Glynne, Rema and Mark Ronson—the JAE5 experience continues to prove itself an extensive and unpredictable ride. “Yes, I’ll obviously be putting in Afrobeat [into the mixes], but I also like to go outside of the box, and mix stuff in that you won’t expect singers and rappers to be on,” he says. “How about UK rap with African sounds?
