The New Radio Kings

Renowned for transforming contemporary pop hits into authentic '50s swing numbers, the New Radio Kings were formed following the dissolution of 28-piece mambo orchestra El Tattoo del Tigre. An all-round entertainer who had also appeared on the TV shows De Smaak van de Keyser, Mijn Sport Is Top, De Rodenburgs, and Dope, vocalist Pieter Embrechts joined forces with pianist Thomas de Prins in 2009. A year later, they released their debut album, Time Is a Thief, a collection of big band interpretations of tracks originally performed by the likes of Foo Fighters, Sting, and Coldplay. ~ Jon O'Brien
