About Sophie Simmons

Sophie Alexandra Tweed-Simmons is the American Canadian singer/songwriter, model and philanthropist behind the effervescent pop bangers “Paper Cut” and “Burn Me Down”. Born in Los Angeles in 1992, she is the daughter of actress Shannon Tweed and Kiss cofounder Gene Simmons. Growing up in the spotlight, she starred alongside her family in popular reality series Gene Simmons Family Jewels from 2006 to 2012, later auditioning for the second season of The X Factor and eventually hitting it big with her 2015 Rebel-produced EDM reimagining of Sixpence None the Richer's ‘90s alt-pop classic “Kiss Me”. Over the years, Simmons has delivered a string of introspective dance epics, delving into heartbreak on “Black Mirror” and going viral with the soaring torch song “Mine”. Outside of music, Simmons has shown interest in community building, sponsoring child advocacy center Sophie's Place in British Columbia in 2012 and launching a body-positive clothing line in 2014.
