Essential Albums
- On Hiding Place, the stalwart Christian vocal group shares songs of praise and thanksgiving—perfect for anyone in need of encouragement, and pitched to maximise their sing-along factor. The mood is reverent and reflective, yet there is also impressive diversity. “You Raise Me Up” starts with a Celtic lilt, while “Through It All” is closer to upbeat gospel. The latter testifies to God’s goodness even through life’s stormiest seasons, and makes a good match to “You Are My Hiding Place”, an adult-contemporary ballad that swells with crescendos of praise.

About Selah
For more than 20 years, the award-winning Nashville trio Selah has repeatedly topped the charts while putting a modern spin on traditional Christian sounds. ∙ Founded in 1997, the group officially debuted two years later with the LP Be Still My Soul, which won a Dove Award for Inspirational Album of the Year. ∙ Selah grabbed another Dove Award for their sophomore album, 2001’s Press On and have gone on to win a total of eight in their career. ∙ “You Raise Me Up,” their 2004 cover of the Secret Garden original, went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian AC Songs chart. ∙ The group’s Gold-certified 2004 LP, Hiding Place, was their first to crack the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart—a feat the trio has repeated seven more times. ∙ They teamed up with celebrated Christian artists Cynthia Clawson, Nichole Nordeman, and Plumb on 2006’s Dove Award-winning Bless the Broken Road - The Duets Album.
