KISS OF LIFE

UK band comprising Mike Benn (bkeyboards) and Victoria Maxwell (vocals). Formed in 1991, their jazz, soul and R&B mix, with soothing female vocals and a leaning towards the club scene, soon attracted the attention of Virgin Records. The duo had met in Hamburg, where Maxwell, classically trained, was a dancer, while Benn was working on session tracks. Back in London, Benn hooked up with Chris Bangs, for whom Benn had co-written one track on the Totally Wired 9 album. It was through Bangs that Paul Weller got involved with Kiss Of Life, guesting on the track ‘Fiction In My Mind’. Singles included ‘Love Has Put A Spell On Me’ and ‘Holding On To A Dream’.
