In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my most memorial music moments as a kid is riding around LA with my father singing Stevie Wonder's "Rocket Love" at the top of my little lungs in the backseat of his 1995 Honda Civic sedan. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Marvin Gaye, What's Going On (40th Anniversary Edition) [Super Deluxe Version] Prince, Sign O' The Times Stevie Wonder, Innervisions Remastered These albums hold a special place in my heart for multiple reasons. They all happen to be over 30 years old, because I am a huge advocate for timeless music. Also these are 3 of my 4 biggest music inspirations. Marvin. Michael. Stevie & Prince. Tell us why you chose this song. “Best of Me” This song is extremely special to me because it was initially written for my mother. The more I sing and perform it the more I realize it's the perfect song for all my friends and supporters. More than anything it's a song. for all my people. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? By far the biggest moment for me was opening for Kendrick Lamar on his Good Kid Maad city tour. The performance was amazing but nothin compares to the conversation we had after my set. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My bucket is full of childhood dreams like meeting Quincy Jones, performing at the Grammy's and even having my own Zane Lowe interview.
