As the nephew and son, respectively, of renowned Brazilian sertanejo duo Leandro e Leonardo, Zé Felipe was born to be a musician. His father taught him guitar as a child and he went on to redefine the established genre. Writing in the sertanejo universitário style that emerged from college campuses in the early 2000s, Zé Felipe catapulted to prominence with easy-going pop like “Saudade de Você” and lyrically provocative love songs such as “Proibido é Mais Gostoso”. He also collaborated with his wife, Virgínia Fonseca, on “Tranquilita”.
