This year, in honour of Black Music Month, we’re exploring the undeniable impact of Black music and musicians around the world. Black music has had a massive influence on the music scene in the Nordics for decades, even though the Black community in the Nordics is quite small. Here, we capture some of the many Black artists—especially from North America and the UK—who have resonated in the Nordics in recent years as well as a few local Nordic Black artists, from the legendary Neneh Cherry to younger talents like Seinabo Sey, Sabina Ddumba and Kwamie Liv.
