“I would describe BXB Sound as a vibes-don’t-stop movement,” DJ Emz tells Apple Music, referring to the London and Midlands event series at which she’s a mainstay. “Every song you play needs to carry on uplifting the party, the mix and, most importantly, the person listening.” That’s the guiding principle behind this 119-track (yes, you read that right) The Agenda DJ mix, which features current trailblazers including Davido, Asake, Mr Eazi, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Ruger and Shallipopi, as well as forces ranging from Beyoncé to Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson. The one track DJ Emz can’t get enough of here? “My certified party-starter right now is ‘City Boys’ by Burna Boy,” she says. Released in April 2024, this mix is a stop en route to a busy summer 2024 for DJ Emz. “On the agenda for me this summer is just reaching higher levels,” she says. “I’ve got my first international booking for this year, at Ibiza Rocks in May, that I’m really excited for. I’m hoping to work closely again with Wireless and to drop more viral remixes and mixes this year. I’m also looking forward to Recessland [in Margate] in May—that will be one for the history books with loads of surprises to come.”
