Nana Mizuki may have breathed life into countless anime characters over the years, but the Japanese voice actress has also moved beyond those roles to establish herself as a chart-topping vocalist. Early singles painted Mizuki, much like the characters she played, as shy and romantic—as evidenced on the sweet J-pop ballads of her 2001 debut. More recent releases have featured increasingly hard rock riffs and powerful, upbeat vocals, characterised by a strong dramatic urgency. Both sides of the seiyū's musical talent can be found in this cross-section of her career.
