Blondie: Influences

Blondie were the biggest band out of New York's late-'70s punk scene, probably because they were really a pop group with killer hooks and charisma. The members bonded over proto-punks like The Stooges and The New York Dolls, but they also loved girl groups like The Ronettes, reggae outfits like Toots and The Maytals, disco hitmakers like Chic and early rock 'n' rollers like Buddy Holly.
