Per7ume

Portuguese pop/rock band Per7ume made their chart-topping commercial recording debut in 2008 with the single "Intervalo." Founded in 2007 in Porto, Portugal, the band is comprised of A.J. Santos (vocals, guitar), José Meireles (guitar), Nélson Reis (bass), Bruno Oliveira (drums), and José Luís Rodrigues (keyboards). "Intervalo" was a duet with Portuguese rock legend Rui Veloso, who is also from Porto. The song was a smash hit, topping the Portuguese singles chart and setting the stage for the band's eponymous album debut, the Top Ten hit Per7ume (2008). The album spawned a few follow-up singles ("Azul," "Novo," "Ao Ouvido") and was re-released in 2009 as a Special Edition CD/DVD. ~ Jason Birchmeier
