Chicago’s Kill Hannah is heavily made up, not just in their clothes and hair but in the multi-hued patchwork of influences that they wear. Formed in 1995 at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and educated by the post-punk and New Wave vinyl of older siblings, the band steadily worked their way up the ranks of the Chicago club scene before attracting national attention with their first LP, 1999’s AMERICAN JET SET. The buzz was aided by music appearing in television shows like “One Tree Hill” and “Jack and Bobby,” and by tours with The All-American Rejects, The Buzzcocks, and Andrew WK, among others.
