White Zombie Essentials

White Zombie Essentials

Founded in 1985 in New York City by Rob Zombie and Sean Yseult, White Zombie initially leaned towards the noise/industrial end of the spectrum. However, by the time of their major label debut, 1992's La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One, they had transformed into a powerful groove-metal band, combining raunchy riffs with horror movie imagery. A surprise hit among alt-rock fans, it set the stage for the band's biggest album, Astro-Creep: 2000. As Zombie and Yseult's relationship collapsed, the band followed suit; after Supersexy Swingin' Sounds , they disbanded in 1998.
