The wildly eccentric White Denim make it their business to sound utterly unlike anybody else in indie rock. Using garage punk for their foundation, the Austin, Texas, outfit ransack psychedelia, funk, prog rock and even Tropicália to create a dizzyingly intricate sound that spins like a kaleidoscope and feels like it's forever on the verge of breaking into a million tiny fragments. Not since the days of the Minutemen and Big Boys has an American band demonstrated such high-octane virtuosity.
