Coming from Chicago, a birthplace of electric blues, this four-piece takes a traditional approach to the format. From the get-go you're transported to a smoky South Side joint. Guitarist Joel Paterson jumps on the beat, ripping out tasty licks while Joe Nosek's harp is the special sauce. Although the music is faithful to the '40s and '50s masters, the lyrics delve into topics like urban gentrification and music piracy. There are also some lesser-known older tunes and familiar favorites for blues heads.
