Jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Terence Blanchard became one of the genre's elite after bursting on to the scene in 1980. A hard-bop master, he also developed a unique Afro-fusion style and packed albums with acoustic jazz and blues-infused funk workouts. With more than 40 movie scores to his credit, Blanchard is the most prolific jazz musician ever to compose for film and one of the most respected and wide-ranging on the scene.
