In the ‘90s, ballads ruled the Korean pop charts, and when it came to singing those ballads, no one did it better than Shin Seung Hun. His songs exemplify the best of the genre: clear, gentle vocals; rich, string-heavy arrangements; and plenty of melodrama and emotion. In his later career, Shin branched out into light, laidback R&B and soul-inspired songs, which he approaches with the same tenderness and sensitivity as ever.
