Sandra de Sá Essentials

Sandra de Sá has been a leading light in Brazilian pop for decades. In addition to a catalogue brimming with Black music-powered MPB gems, her lasting popularity has been propelled by telenovela favourites such as much-loved ‘80s samba ode “Enredo do Meu Samba”—the opening theme to Partido Alto. Her smoky, warm-hearted vocals are front and centre in prized picks such as the deliciously funky “Olhos Coloridos”. She’s made soul-reggae cuts with the likes of Djavan and Marina Lima and synth-drenched ballads featuring fellow MPB ambassador Michael Sullivan.
