Triple threat Richard Thompson—a powerful singer, masterful songwriter and virtuosic guitarist—is one of the most influential figures in British folk-rock. In 1967 he made history as a co-founder of pioneering folk-rockers Fairport Convention, but in 1972 Thompson began his enormously fruitful solo career. Between 1974 and 1982, he cut a string of celebrated albums with his wife Linda Thompson, but after their marriage ended he was back on his own again, professionally as well as personally. Ever since, Thompson has continued building an unparalleled legacy.
