Ragers: Influences

The hip-hop band has become something of an endangered species in a solo-MC-dominated field. But Montreal quartet Ragers boast a brotherly camaraderie that recalls classic crews like the Beastie Boys as well as 21st-century successors like N.E.R.D and Gym Class Heroes. And like those groups, Ragers aren’t shy about mixing rap with other aesthetics, whether it’s the jazzy funk finesse of the Robert Glasper Experiment or the snotty punk attitude of The Offspring.
