Philip Jeck Essentials

Liverpudlian multimedia artist Philip Jeck artist uses antique record players to loop scratched vinyl into melancholy ambient tracks and experimental drones. Jeck first stepped into the spotlight with the 1993 performance piece Vinyl Requiem, which turned 180 turntables into an orchestra, and he released his acclaimed debut album, Loopholes, 1995. He's gone on to record many haunting albums as a solo artist and collaborator, using an array of turntables, tapes and electronic instruments to craft his otherworldly music.
