Just Jinjer Essentials

Nearly two decades ago, Just Jinger took South Africa by storm, blasting out of the gates with the contemporary rock debut album All Comes Round. Their 1998 cover version of Rodriguez' “Sugarman” was praised by many as one of the best songs of the decade—Ard Matthew's enduring vocals, singing a song written by a Detroit singer Americans had never heard of, was positively life-affirming. When it comes to homegrown South African music, Just Jinger set the stage for a new aesthetic dialogue and single-handedly altered the face of the contemporary rock genre.
