Junior Reid's high vocals and staccato delivery have made him an enduring and much sought-after reggae performer since the ‘80s. A protégé of producers Sugar Minott and King Jammy, he began recording as a teen before rising to fame as the frontman for Black Uhuru. After scoring a GRAMMY® nomination and worldwide recognition with the group, Reid resumed his solo career, scoring a Top 5 hit with his cameo on The Soup Dragons' “I'm Free”, guesting with Coldcut and producing for Snow, Big Youth and others. He has also successfully collaborated with Stateside hip-hop artists like Wu-Tang Clan and DJ Khaled.
