A jazz drummer for all seasons, Pittsburgh native Jeff "Tain" Watts memorably drummed on multiple GRAMMY®-winning albums by both Wynton and Branford Marsalis. Dynamic, subtle, swinging, swift and streetwise, Watts has mastered virtually every jazz variation, from bop to bossa to New Orleans rhythm and blues. He's no slouch as a composer, either, with an almost self-deprecatory tendency not to outshine his music's melody and a discography as bandleader that's nearly comparable to his career as a superlative sideman.
