For a band inspired by “de-evolution”, Devo have left a fruitful legacy. Their wiry riffs and barbed humour resonate in the twangy guitars and campy vocals of The B-52's, while their clockwork arrangements and futurist obsessions live on in They Might Be Giants' “Nanobots”. Brainiac's uncompromising synth-punk is a direct extension of their gonzo antics.
