Had he never gambled at all, country songwriter Don Schlitz would still have landed in the Songwriter's Hall of Fame. Best known for penning Kenny Rogers' GRAMMY®-winning “The Gambler” and Randy Travis' “Forever and Ever, Amen”, he's written 24 American No. 1 singles and a Broadway musical, and he was honoured in 2010 with the Academy of Country Music's Poet's Award for lifetime achievement in songwriting.
