About Zu.

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was in primary school, leading the choir at a competition. I recall everyone being so surprised that such a big voice was coming from such a little girl. I think that moment played a huge role in planting me in music. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Natty, Man Like I Simphiwe Dana, The One Love Movement on Bantu Biko Street 朝崎郁恵, 高橋 全, 海美〜AMAMI My seasons have always been marked by memorable sounds & scents. I love music so much that discovering certain albums actually changes my life and I obsess & loop and over time that means every season has its selection. These are the loudest memories Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Ngulo” It may have taken me 3 years to write this song but it only took one take to record the lead vocal. Sibusiso Chiloane allowed me live with it, often wearing its hook to explore the possibilities. When I finally found the words even I was moved. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? This one time my band and I got invited to Bantu Hour and the late Bra Hugh Masekela, after hearing us soundcheck, picked up his trumpet and decided to perform with us. I'd never felt so seen in my entire life! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'm looking forward to traveling the world and performing in beautiful venues with their beautiful acoustics. The world deserves me. I deserve the world.
