Rex Aquarium

Los Angeles band Rex Aquarium grew out of the band the Breaks, which included brothers Charles Wadhams (on guitar and vocals) and Christopher Wadhams (on bass), sons of Bill Wadhams, whose band Animotion landed the Top Ten hit "Obsession" in 1985. Their debut album, 2004's Privacy, was built around a leaner-than-usual sound for indie rock, with funkish rhythms and a vocal yelp that echoed some of the early New York new wave bands of the late '70s. ~ Richie Unterberger
