About MC Ren
Because he shared the mic in the iconic N.W.A. with the charismatic and polarizing Easy-E and future mega-stars Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, it’s easy (and more than a bit unfair) for MC Ren’s contributions to West Coast rap to get lost in the shuffle. However, Ren dropped memorable verses on hits like "Straight Outta Compton" and was most responsible for the hyper-sexual angle of the Compton crew, penning the landmark "She Swallowed It" among other racy tracks. While Ren’s post-N.W.A. career may never have exploded, he remained a vital part of the hip-hop scene (if often in the background) for over a decade.
