Kaylow

About Kaylow

With his impeccably soulful voice and respectful demeanour, Kelello "Kaylow" Segoana brings more than a touch of class to South Africa's house scene. Born in Soweto in 1986, Kaylow made his first recordings in 2009, finding success in London with Darque's "Difference". His own tracks—like the 2014 hit "The Soul Café" from his debut album, Reach Out—address an ideal love and set a sterling example of sensuous politesse. In 2017, after the release of his second album, War for Love, Kaylow was named Best Male Vocalist at South Africa's inaugural Dance Music Awards. He tapped into his African musical roots on amapiano-tinged dance tracks such as 2021's upbeat "Isgubhu”, and delivered a low-key (yet no less excoriating) critique of political corruption the same year on the jazzy "Promises".
