About Jorge Rossy

Jorge Rossy is a Catalonian jazz drummer, pianist, vibraphonist, and marimbist. His precise, fluid touch on a drum kit has graced hundreds of live and studio recordings by a diverse array of artists. His session and touring résumés include work with artists ranging from Woody Shaw and Charlie Haden to Joe Lovano and Mark Turner. Rossy and his bassist brother Mario made their debut with 1993's When I Fall in Love, billed to the (Brad) Mehldau & Rossy Trio. He joined Mehldau's trio in 1995. Rossy is a formidable composer and leads an all-star vibes and marimba quintet. Their debut, 2015's Stay Here, as well as 2018's Beyond Sunday, won global notice. In 2020 Rossy, in a trio with pianist Enrico Pieranunzi and bassist Jasper Somsen, issued the widely acclaimed Common View.
