About Fabrice Bollon

Conductor Fabrice Bollon is the music director of the Staatskapelle Halle in Germany and has been more active abroad than in his native France. In 1996, Bollon became the chief conductor of the Flanders Symphony Orchestra. In 2000, he left that post for the same one at the Chemnitz Opera in Germany. Bollon made his recording debut in 2001, conducting the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart in a performance of Wolfgang Rihm's Tutuguri. In 2009, Bollon became the general music director and chief conductor at the Theater Freiburg, where he instituted a strong recording program leading recordings of lesser-known operas. He stepped down in Freiburg in 2021 to take the position of general music director at the Staatskapelle Halle. With that group, he conducted a recording of the Richard Strauss ballet Josephs Legende in 2024, and the same year saw the release of his own composition, In Taros Welt.
