About Daniel Dodds
Conductor and violinist Daniel Dodds has gained wide recognition as artistic director of the Festival Strings Lucerne in Switzerland. As a soloist, he has also appeared with a variety of major orchestras. In 2006, Dodds made his recording debut with the Phoebus Quintet on an album of chamber music by Ferenc Farkas. Under Dodds' leadership, the Lucerne Festival Strings became the first Swiss orchestra invited to perform at the Elbphilharmonie hall in Hamburg. He conducted the Lucerne Festival Strings on a 2014 recording with violinist Arabella Steinbacher and on a 2020 album by violinist Midori, featuring Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61. In 2022, he led the group in a recording of Mozart's "Haffner" Serenade, K. 250.
