About Al Kapone
A veteran in the Memphis gangsta rap scene, Al Kapone (sometimes known as Ska-Face Al Kapone and Al Kapeezy) debuted in 1992 with the single “Lyrical Drive-By.” After releasing more than a dozen underground albums, building his reputation in his hometown, throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Kapone skyrocketed to national fame for his work on the Academy Award-winning HUSTLE & FLOW soundtrack in 2005--he wrote and produced “Whoop That Trick,” wrote “Hustle & Flow (It Ain’t Over),” and performed his own solo track “Get Crunk, Get Buck”.
